Amy Alemu – President
Amy is a senior concentrating in History from Washington, D.C. On campus, she is a staff member for Harvard Model Congress Boston, works to help run Institute of Politics Forum events, and plays Intramural Tennis for Currier House. In her free time, Amy can be found exploring restaurants and hidden finds in the Cambridge area and watching the Colbert Report. She is incredibly excited for HMC Dubai 2014!
A junior, Erica has wasted no time diving into Harvard life. Outside of HMC and HMCD, Erica is the Executive Producer of the Eleganza Fashion Show, blogs for the Vestis Council, and is a member of Association of Harvard Black Women. A Southern belle at heart, Erica enjoys cooking, cycling, and playing piano. Erica plans to concentrate in Government with a secondary in Ethnic Studies and aspires to work in humanitarian non-profit. Having staffed HMC Boston, Erica is so excited to be a part of the 2014 Dubai experience!
Vivian Shaw - Faculty Liaison
Vivian Shaw is a sophomore studying Public Policy and Education. In addition to HMC, she also directs a mentoring program and a summer camp for youth in Boston. Like most HMC staffers, she enjoys participating in heated political discussions, so don’t be afraid to start a debate! As a true Texan, Vivian is a huge fan of sun, shorts, flip-flops and live music. In her free time, Vivian enjoys reading outside (when it’s sunny!), playing tennis, dancing, and watching TV.
Fay Alexander – Director of Operations
Fay Alexander is a senior at Harvard College concentrating in Government. Fay plans on teaching high school history after she graduates. She has loved working with all the past HMC delegates and is looking forward to another successful year.
Ben DeVore – Director of International Programs
Ben DeVore is a senior concentrating in History with a secondary in Spanish. Originally from the small town of Vidalia, Georgia, Ben is a captain for Dorm Crew and a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity at Harvard. Human rights are extremely important to Ben. Over the last two summers, he has worked for an LGBTQ advocacy group in Santiago, Chile and for Amnesty International in Washington D.C. In his spare time, Ben likes to goof off with friends, travel as much as he can, and have interminable Netflix marathons.
Rebecca Curran – Director of Domestic Programs
Rebecca is a sophomore in Pforzheimer House and plans on concentrating in Romance Languages and Literatures. In addition to Harvard Model Congress, Rebecca is a member of the Radcliffe women’s lightweight crew team. Hailing from Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, Rebecca loves traveling, running, and Nutella. She can’t wait for HMCD 2014!
Patrick Rooney – Business Manager
Patrick Rooney is a senior majoring in Economics. He is originally from Alabama and is a stereotypically Southern fan of fried food, nice weather, and college football on Saturdays in the fall. Outside of school, he serves as a co-president of his dorm, tutors in economics and statistics, and runs long distance with the Harvard Marathon Club. He can’t wait for the conference to start!
Eric Cervini – Chief of Staff
Eric is a senior living in Lowell House and concentrating in History. He has been involved in HMC since freshman year, and he has had the opportunity to staff more than ten conferences in the past few years. This year, Eric is the President of HMC Boston, and is the former President of HMC Dubai. Besides HMC, he is the editor-in-chief of the Harvard Undergraduate Law Review, and he enjoys reading and playing piano. Eric is thrilled about HMC Dubai 2014!
